Well, PPG's straight cut dog boxes are rated to only 800 (and that's straight from Andrew's mouth)...PAR's are in the Rigoli cars and have (as well as rods) but they tend to have quality issues and have been known to blow up on 400whp cars. I personally loved my PAR dogbox when I had it. Sold it because a 5-spd platform can't hold my long term power goals.

As far as strength, a build 6-spd is much stronger than a 5spd, once again straight from Andrew. Also with the 5-spd's notice how they have a replacable input shaft?...might want to think for a second as to why
They do break.

What trans does anarchypro have?

congrats on the runs!!

Nice for a street car regardless!!

well, dogboxes suck on the street (first hand knowledge)...that and the cases do flex but aren't the reason for failure. Ron and I will still argue from time to time at meets about it. I just know engineering and load paths...he's an electrician in the navy

that and I've cracked a case before...cracks don't magically appear.

IMO. I liked my Straight cut gears. I just sold my tranny because of a few things.

1. the noise was starting to annoy me
2. Id rather just do a 6spd and call it a day.

I really dont think you will have to worry about flex with a PPG tranny. id worry more about bending a fork, or snapping the pin that slides actoss the clutch fork it self.

Drivng a dog box daily would really piss me off. lol
