What do you mean it felt slowish? It should feel a hell of a lot faster than your previous car. There must be something wrong with the car even if there was 4 people in it. It still has a bov and intake, which it probably isn't tuned for. If any of your friends own an sti get one of them to go with you. They should know how it should drive. Also stock boost should be around 14 lbs of boost.

the reason it went to auction was probably due to the cluster change if anything, a major dealer would not want to deal with a car that has 48kmiles on it and the cluster says 7k.

Very true Jewbu.. I would just be cautious to the actual mileage. No one will ever know. Like my example: I have a friend with a '94 Ford Ranger(Bought new), and he has his interior light fuse removed, and this also controls the Odometer on his Ford. He has had this truck for some time, and the mileage reads 43,xxx miles. It's there, and you can see it, but do you REALLY know the true mileage? I would just be cautious that if the prior owner didn't fix this correctly; what else could have went to the way-side..

My ITR had a bunch of lil shit on it here and there it wasnt bad,i used to beat wrx's with bolt ons and crap so it wasnt bad at all, but it felt slo-ish becuase i did have 3 other people in the STI including the salesperson who was about 6'6 and not skinny!

But yea, i have to check out about the milage....

it sounds kinda pricey , you should find a better deal than that, for 20 grand you might find an 05 sti , i'd definitely consider the 05 sti over 04 here's why
2005 Subaru Impreza WRX and STi spec page

new Helical Front limited slip differential
new power steering oil cooler
new wider 8" wheel (replaces 7.5")
new rear wheel arch flares, body colored (because the new 8" whl?)
new Immobilizer key, 3 supplied. Needed to start car
new Yaw sensor (part of the lateral G sensor)
new climate control
new air filtration
new smoked headlight lens
new daytime running lights
new re-designed keyless remote fob
new seat cushion side bolster material
new center console cupholders, replaces the one by the center vent
new sam/fm/CD changer w/ bass, mid, treble adjustments, 6 spkrs
new door armrest redesigned, now cloth, includes mirror controls
new colors

keep searching and you'll find a better deal for an instance
eBay Motors: Subaru : Impreza (item 250207300504 end time Jan-24-08 15:01:08 PST)

the other "cem" from floridasubarus bought this 05 sti last year with 14k miles on it for just 23k..
good luck

I still don't know if it should have felt slo-ish. Even with 4 people in the car, comparing that to a ITR or wrx is a whole different story. Also if you want to buy an sti, get an 05.
