good luck and keep us posted. i know alot of people that just gave up and had the light turned off when tuned. i think there is an issue to be figured out that doesnt have anything to do with racing or modding. i think we will eventually see some sort of recall from subaru to fix the issue, hopefully its figured out soon...

I think its dummy light detector.

It recognizes the dummy driving the car and comes on.

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fucking temperamental.

257 shortblock
WRX heads
Up/DP
VF39
565cc
CAI
SSAC FMIC

I did the tune. It'll run great while Im in it...
He'll leave and the code pops within a few days (at the most). I know Craig has tried several different temp plugs/gapping w/o success. FWIW: this isnt something new for some 2.5 Hybrids...hopefully we'll get it figured out soon.

yeah its due to the bump in compression with the WRX heads on the 257 block. Ive already pulled some timing from it around idle. Looks like Im gonna pull some more.

Like Ive said, not all hybrids do this. For example, I made similar adjustments on Jesus' car (also running a Hybrid) and he hasnt had any issues.

Exactly..thanks Jeff!

I want to get the pressure issue fixed first and then we can get together and see if we can work this out. I'm going to swap my inlet tomorrow and check the up pipe gaskets, clean my MAF, and put one step colder plugs in and we'll see what happens.

Here's what I know. the car does not like the plugs gapped at .030 at all. the code comes back within minutes and the car noticeably misses. It runs best with plain old copper Autolites; platinums and iridiums make it worse. So, I'm going to put the one step colder copper Autolite plugs in but increase the gap...maybe it will clean up some of the firing issues.

I'll post again tomorrow when I get done. Oh BTW, whats the best way to clean the MAF?

Craig
