But wouldn't you research first before you bought it?

IF the seats are fake then I would be upset and feel cheated as well. You can look on the bright side though chomedrifter, It's not like you paid the full price for Brides. Usually Brides go for about $1k for the pair. some people even pay that and trade so....not bad. If Brides were ment for fatter people I would swap with you. I am sure you will have NO problem re selling them
So I guess no one researches before they buy anything? I don't know about you, but if I were to buy a used car, I'd be running the VIN BEFORE I bought the fucking car.

Sure I'd be pissed after the fact if I found out the seats I bought were fake, but whose fault is that? Mine and only mine. Research should be done prior to buying a product so you know what to look for.

Isn't the whole point of Carfax/VIN reports to find out the status of the car BEFORE the purchase? That would be nobody's fault but the buyer. Is it shitty? Yeah. But it's the buyer's obligation to protect him/herself.

^ of course when I make the comparison for the car it is a little different because it is of much greater value so of course more research is done. Also with cars they havbe carfax......there is no bridefax.com But honestly, do you research every used purchase you make to check about knock offs??? I don't. I mean pesonally if someone said ....hey these are brides.....and they look legit.....and I trust the person more because they are on the same forum and have the same interest I would trust them and not even think they were fake. Most likely he stumbled upon the possible fake info researching installing them, not sure.....but I am not taking sides. I don't know chrome from Adam and nev3er even seen him post, I am just stating that if they are indeed fake and were sold as official Brides and the seller knew they were fake.......then that's dirty. If Ryan had no idea they were fake and sold what he thought to be as official Brides then I don't see any harm done. Chrome should just re sell them.

He found a site showing fake brides so obviously it's a problem. When I was looking to buy coilovers there were websites about people selling fake Tien's. So yes, I do my research because I don't want to be in chromes situation.

^ I agree that he should have researched before purchase and yes it is very much his fault for buying them. All I am saying is that I can relate to him being upset and feeling cheated.

If Ryan didn't know they were fake then I don't see any harm done. However, If he knew they were fake and they are actually fake then that is fucked up....on his part.

Yeah but he made accusations because the brides he has have fake tendencies.

Shit only a trained eye can tell fake TE37's from real ones.Even in that case the fakes have alot of little things in common with the authentic wheels.

Like I said before I think both parties are partially at fault to some degree and they should work something out between themselves to come to a mutual agreement.

Yes you check the VIN when you buy the wrx, but the wrx shouldn't be advertised as an STi if it's not (Ignorance is not an excuse). That's the responsibility of the seller...accurate representation of a product they're selling.

So, the seller should have advertised properly (if it's not original) and the buyer should have researched ahead of time. They're both at fault and should both be accountable.

It doesn't get any simpler than that.

I do not accuse Ryan of selling fake shit because he might not have known that they were fake as I didn't. But since we've discovered that the seats are fake I would at least take some responsibility instead of "I dont want to deal with your bullshit". Who am I trying to bullshit?

Yes I did make a mistake not researching a bit but the Thread specifide "500 for my Brides and your stockers. Wouldn't you assume he is selling legit shit.

I in no way demanded "Oh I want my money back, I'm not dealing with this fake shit" Thats only the way Ive been portrayed. I just simply want my stock seats back in my car instead of fake seats. Ryan If you want I will give you another hundred to have my seats back. With that 100 and the 100 you offered me you can buy some 04-05 seats to match your car. Since the seats are your property that is only a proposal.

I'm sorry all this had to happen but can we both man up and take responsibility of what's happened and come to a conclusion that suits both of us?
