thats weird about evos breaking down and what not. what makes the evos less reliable? i know sti's and evo's usually run neck to neck.

 

Uhhh nitrous on anything without a good tune = blown motor. Regardless of NA or forced induction. There is no reason why a turbo car with a reasonable shot and proper tune shouldnt last just as long as its NA counterpart.

In the case of Subies, WRXs/STis need a tune to run well with even the most minute changes in parts. This is probably even more true when adding nitrous. So the guy who throws a 70 wet shot on his car and just makes an educated guess on his fuel jet shouldnt be surprised when he assplodes something. But guys who take the time to tune for the spray (like Sam @ Coastal and URFUCT did when they had their cars) are able to run it for a decent amount of time without problems.

evo owners seem to push there cars ... sti owners seem to baby them ... how many built Sti's do you see compared to Evo's??? that should prove something ( its a better plat forum )

 

^^^^I agree with Julian. I'm pretty sure it also costs a lot more to make lets say, 500whp in a STi compared to making that same power in a EVO. You see a lot of 800whp+ STREET EVOS. It's pretty hard to find many street STIs running 500whp.

 

thats exactly why. its cheaper.

 

either car will last you a long time if you drive it accordingly. if you beat the hell out of it, it will break. as far as calling the evo unreliable, I'm not buying it. evos are consistently making power, and with that comes added risk. the only bolt on evo's i ever see with problems are clutch/tranny/transfer case, and that is 90% how you drive the car.

 

Would cheaper in that case mean terrible quality which would then turn to the reliability factor....either way they are both good cars by different aspects...i'm surprised that somebody with a srt-4 hasn't jumped in this thread .

I said i've owned both. and the evo 9 was a piece of crap...not fit for even a korean or chinese car.

the evo 8 was awesome, no problems.

not once did i mention mods...

I'm unbiased, i've owned 18 high performance vehicles and was just sharing my personal experiences...not my customers...not what i heard...but WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED.
