straight cut or helical?
yea jdm tranny is even tighter i cant get into 60 in 2nd its insane how close it is straight up rally gears

aside from that the real question be syncro or dog
for the street I would honestly do straight 1-2 and helical 3-4 syncro...
though helicals are theoretically stronger, in the real world the straight cuts take more abuse.
For cruising, the 6-speeds are great but you have no time in gear and they are about 85 lbs heavier. So for performance the 5 speed wins all day.
p.s. I'm doing my first built tranny witha PAR gearset. It showed up today so I'm stoked. I'll let you know how it turns out.

well you have to have some specialty tools to set lash on the front differential...other than that just standards gauges to mic and use the right shims...
other than that they are simple.
you can save a good bit on labor if you drop the tranny and crack it open yourself. Also if you reinstall it yourself.
That's what I'm doing at Kent Moore is taking forever for the specialty tools.

i had the ra spec 1-5 on my 02, it got wrecked and totalled buy the girl who bought it from me rip to my old sube! its a bitch Chuck especially like ^^ he said they forgot something...our trannies are like a glass house wearing nails as shoes.....
