Default Trying to decide

Hey all. I'm trying to decide which car to buy when I move back to the states. I've had all kinds of cars, FWD, RWD and AWD. After the GTR I would really like to stay with an AWD turbo platform. I think I've narrowed it down to three.

WRX
STI
EVO

Can anyone comment on the above? I don't know much about Subaru model trims. What exactly is the difference between the WRX and STI models? Has anyone gone from a Subaru to an EVO or vice versa that would like to comment?

TIA

EVO

hands down, even though i own a subaru lol... its just a much better platform. My good friend has an evo 9 and there is no comparison between an STi and a evo 9

Picking the perfect model for you depends on your needs, wants, and means.

STi and EVO are going to cost more than a 5MT WRX. The difference in parts used more than justifies the cost.

EVO's will go faster on the stock turbo. Cams are also cheaper and easier to swap.

STi has the boxer rumble which is very addictive.

Both platforms can be made to go fast... The question you should ask yourself here is... In the event (God forbid) that I get in an accident, do I want to walk away from it or have reservations at the local Hospital?

Dont mean to be too blunt, but honestly, the subaru is a hell of alot safer than the Evo...

Either way, whatever you decide with, congrats.

the STI will last you alot longer then the EVO too.

but if I had to do it all over again, I would probably have gone with the EVO.

i would take an sti any day of the week. If you are lookin for a dependible car with great power mods, an sti is where it is at. if you are look for pure performance and could care less about insurance and safety, than the evo is your choice. Remember, the evo is still a mitsu with a non up to par tranny and transfer cases. my parents didnt like the evo b/c it felt like the rental lancer we had to get. haha. remember, personal preference should be the number one item when it comes to choosing. if you like the evo, then get an evo and vise versa. sorry, i am trashed!

i love the platform of the evo/ the motor and everything about it except the interior. i figure if it costs the same amount as an sti i might as well go with the well rounded package. sti interior owns evo interior. IMO anyways.
