It's just a dress rehersal for what married life is like. After all, until all this PC BS they originally named all the storms after women Been there, done that; lost my T-shirt

The thing about Tampa being "invincible" is a little off. Granted, Pinellas County hasn't had a direct hit by a hurricane in, I think its 80 or so years. A "direct hit" meaning the eye passes over. That doesn't count near misses. Remember Charlie? It was supposed to whallop Pinellas. I made a video catalog of everything in my apartment for the insurance. I brought entire file server with me when I went to my parents' house for safe keeping.

That's to say nothing if it goes in north of Pinellas, such as Pasco. The storm surge going into the bay would probably be more than enough to put downtown Tampa underwater pretty well. A 20 foot storm surge would cover almost all of Pinellas. Plus, as you all realize I'm sure, hurricanes are big. Katrina would have covered the entire state of Florida, and then some.

Yeah, I'm a weather nerd.

incase any missed it, wilma is a C5 storm....

the pressure drop last nite (alone) was astounding.. (was 940mb when i went to bed!!)

884mb right now..... arguably the strongest strom EVER in the history of recorded climatology.. (892mb the record in 1935)

at this point, this storm will totally anahialate anything and everthing in its pathway.

by thurs nite we should know if it's coming close or not.....

ese

ps- gas up now; you know everyone's gonna freak out today about this.....

the line for 100 octane will be around the block!!
