IMO Sti's look bad completely wingless. The huge scoop looks awkward with nothing on the back to offset it. If you are going to get rid of the basket handle, get a regular WRX spoiler or something else back there. IMO only the regular WRXs can get away wingless cause of the smaller scoops.

If you do the fmic black you dont want to paint it cuz the paint will not allow it to dissipate heat. The coating mine has is literally better than nothing. Its a thermal dispersant coating, it dissipates heat better than raw aluminum. READ HERE

 

thus useing high temp BBQ paint or engine paint. with a front mount you have constant air hitting it. so the heat disperssion really isnt a huge factor.

 

If heat dispersion isnt a big factor then why would he have bought a FMIC???

 

this is the reason to buy a fmic. to avoid heat soak, more cooling power, and to get the cooling power of the intercooler away from the heat of the engine.

i think you miss under stood what i ment. it isnt a big factor when considering to paint it or not. there really isnt any change at all. this is coming from some of the most reputible tuners in the US. not from me. i am repeating what they have told me.

 

De-wing and paint the stockers black,thats what all the cool people do. It'll look hot,plus we can be Team STIttle.
