Question soooo about the evo and sti....

maybe this'll breathe some life into this forum for a day or 2....

I remember when the sti fiiiirst came stateside everyone was saying how rare they were going to be and how there will be so many more evo's but they'll be slower and crappier....

well....i see way more STI's than I do EVO's and every STI I see is usually driven by older dudes who I guess can't afford speeding tickets b/c i think the fastest i've ever seen an STI go on the street is 5-10 under the speed limit.

On the other hand, on the rare occasion I see an EVO they're always flying down the road or being driven 10-15 over the speed limit.

So what's the deal....can someone with an STI speed by me one day? Did all the money the evo drivers save go towards radar detectors...what's the deal......

discuss...

Alot of people are not buying the EVO because the STi is better.

A couple of EVO owners have even said that they should have bought an STi.

I see way more Sti's than Evo's. First of all, you get an extra cog in the gear box, adjustable differential, more displacement and more power. Plus, the interior does not look like a rental car. Perhaps I'm biased, but your getting much more for your dollar with a Scooby. Drive past any Mitsu dealer and see how many Evo's are sitting on the lots.

I, for one, am aware of the superiority of the STI over the EVO, i was just saying why don't i see more STI's and when i do, why are they all going so damn slow...

because most of the people I see in evos are dumb kids who just want a fast car where most STi owners seem to be real motor sports enthusiasts,

remember most of the ricer mags (like sport compact and super street) wont budge on what they said pre STi announcement, they claimed the EVO is the end all be all car and I guess they just dont want to eat crow over it, whereas car and driver road and track etc have stood up and said the STi just blew them away.

2turbo,

I agree with you alot... LOL

I see 2 everyday when im heading home from work and I swear it is like ZZZZZZZZZ when your driving behind them... First of all I agree that speeding aroudn 24/7 should be left for cops and 16yr olds... But when you have caviliers and grand am's passing you you need to re evaluate your driving...

As far as my feelings on the EVO v. STI... If I had teh money I would get teh STI it just had a lot more umph and well its not a mitsu But the thign is why woudl you buy a sports car that is rare and race inspired if you are goign to toodle the speed limit all teh time and never push the car to its limits??? TO me thats just as bad as taking a family car and trying to race that.. If you want to poke aroudn traffic buy a freakin camary..

When you buy an STi you are now assigned the argeious task of lettign me live vicariously through you... Its like when I pull up to this Lotus Esprit that lives by me... I look over and smile and roll my windows down... WHY??? Because I cant afford the car and the closest I can get is to hear and feel his car... So he will rev a few times for me and then when the light turns green he takes off, I smile and go back to driving my 38MPG GTI

So do us all a favor and do somethign with that frikin car
