I have a 1999 jetta glx 2.8 12v that had coolant in a cylinder and a noise. I went to pull the head off and saw the tensioner was broken, and have decided to just put a engine in it. The engine did run when I started to take it apart(how I have no idea) but I doubt it will run due to parts of the tensioner falling into the oil galley for the lower timing chain assembly. Motor has 130,000 miles on it. I'm a ford person and really don't know how much it is worth( if anything) and wanted to see if anyone was interested in it. Are you the house that always has VW's parked in the driveway and has one side ways in the garage?

Also I dont want to look like a idiot but what is a vag-com? I really dont know much about VW's?

We picked up a engine and i am putting it in Saturday afternoon/night when i get off work.
