you will not find a reliable sr20 for 1500. maybe just the block but then you would still need $500-1000 in parts to get it running.
Good luck finding anything if your budget is $1500.
You are safely going to spend around $2000+ for a decent clip and or motorset

yea its going to cost you about 2000-2500 for a motorset or clip then its going to cost like 3000 for all the extra parts....clutch, fmic, bov, downpipe, motor mounts...etc
ka turbo would cost about as much as a good motor

1500 for a clean SR20(In 98 maybe)? That is insulting. I paid 2400 dollars for mines from phase2motortrend (and that is becuase i got a 100 dollar discount for preordering before the container arrived!), sure you can find a bare motorset for around 1500 , that will probably be ragged out , missing a MAF sensor , SMIC+stock sr radiator, and definetely a ignitor chip $$$$ , e.t.c. Add up all the parts required for a SR swap and you will clearly see that it is not a inexpensive swap. It's a pay to play game , if you want to play , you have to pay , their are no workarounds.
