Seriously though if your serious, I would not make a DSM your first car especially not an auto.

If you where to buy one you should by Fernando's because it is a fresh engine and backed by a shop. He is even willing to help you get better at driving a manual car.

Being that you don't want a manual car I'm assuming that your not a mechanic nor mechanically inclined right? If you answer no to both of those please do not burden yourself with these cars unless you get something fresh backed by a shop.

My .02

What's wrong with a DSM being a first car?

I know his car is very well taken car of, and would be worth it. I just don't want a manual. o.O

I'm mechanically disabled, you assumed correct. lol

If you don't get a fresh one, you will have nothing but problems, you need to find ont that has been Super well been taking care of or has had everything under the hood replaced or RR'd. Don't think for once that there is more than 3 out there that hasn't been beat to shit or modded. Just not a good choice, why don't you make your first car a nice new car or something...

Well you will be if you go against everything I have told you. Your not even safe with the NA Chrysler powered ones. DSM's has been turning people like you into mechanics since 89'

Dont listen to him. Do what you want and you shouldnt have too much trouble finding an auto. Most people dont really want them to begin with so you should be able to pick one up a little cheaper.

DO however be prepared to pick up a wrench because inevitably(sp?) something is going to brake, even if it is minor, and you are going to want to be able to fix it. Also thoroughly look over whatever car you are looking to buy. If I were you I would take somebody that knows these cars and can check things like compression, the turbo (shaft play), and overall health of the car.

don't listen to Ender, people like him are the reason why DSM's have such a bad name. Telling people that have no clue what their getting into to go for it and then you will be pissed when the thing falls apart on you costing you $$$ to fix it due to your lack of mechanical knowledge, then the bashing starts. I don't care what you do but if it where me I would appreciate the heads up and warnings before finding out the hard way.

+1......they break a LOT once people that dont know what they're doing have owned them.....if you must get one though get one that is backed by a reputable shop who stands behind their work(which are hard to find) or get a 100% stock one....with LOW miles(which are also hard to find or,you WILL be spending money to fix the mess the guy before you made.
good luck
