check the coil. the coils (located in the dizzy)either work or dont work and would stall out like discribed
u cant "look" at it and see if its bad. i would barrow another and test if the newly installed one worx

find the starter get a good peice of wire touch it on the positive side of the battery and touch the starter oh n its suppose to spark just make sure u touch the starter

check the ground to the valve cover mine burnt out in my ef sedan and did the same thing ur car is doing the wire got hot and melted lol took for ever to figure that out lol
