Ride Of The Month v 2.0 ### Suggestions Thread###
Guess my point just seems to fall on deaf ears. It's not worth trying to explain to a bunch of guys who haven't been around long enough to see that it's evolved many times with the same outcome. I'm done expressing my views on it.
The next time I post in this forum will be to nominate senorhonda each month.

How is that falling on deaf ears... I never said NO to your ideas. Between you and projekt, a few good points HAVE been made and they ARE being looked into in how to implement along with tweaking the system we have now.
All I said was to be patient since I decided to bring this back and we are working on it constantly to make it better than before.
I totally understand your point of view
So how is this meaning that what you are saying is falling on deaf ears?
I really do think we need to follow Graves idea of having a manufacturer a month or something like that. This month's voting and nominations is just proving it more and more.
Also, it should be a rule that you have to be in good standing with the site and members in order to be nominated/voted for. I don't think it's right to allow someone that has repeatedly scammed forum users (this forum or others) the opportunity to represent the site as ROTM.

As for members in "good standings", I totally agree that if someone is going to be exposed as TR's ROTM, there should be some positive reflection from the user. It will be hard to do "background" checks on all nominees and another thing is where do you draw the line....? I understand if there is published allegations about one user regarding scamming, but what about users that do nothing but troll or instigate and argue and earn an asshole reputation? Or ones who have been banned several times for obvious rules violations? These also appear to be a non-candidate reasons as well.... Note: everything I just stated is not said toward anyone in particular just mere examples of things that are negative traits that would then also need to be considered.
All of that said, this is what it boils down to:
It is just too much work to police and investigate user's backgrounds in order to qualify them as candidates-
We can't judge certain actions and ignore the many others that takes place on TR all day-
ROTM is supposed to be a fun interesting way to showcase your ride if you get nominated, it doesnt mean you become representatives of the site-
it is supposed to be about the cars and user participation regarding the competition-
If a user DOES have an online reputation (whether True or not), Somehow I believe in the powers of the people and most likely people WON'T vote or support said individual so basically it will solve itself. As we can see Secondz's ride is bad ass, tons of work and effort put into it and it shows by the votes so far as well as Josh. .
If you'd like to help in ROTM regarding "user screening" PM me so we can talk more about it and come up with a fair system regarding that.
Graves' idea is one that is contributing to the upcoming evolving changes to ROTM.......

I don't think you can really compare one's reputation as an asshole on a forum to a known scammer. Like you said, it should just work itself out with votes, but if we get more exposure for the ROTM deal, not as many people will know that the guy they just voted for may or may not have been a scammer. If it wasn't for my memory and talking to Thaking to double check my information, I would have never remembered this month's "situation".
