[QUOTE=blacksheep-1;7297450]I'd def put in a cage/ rollbar and subframe connectors BEFORE cutting into that firewall or the car may fold up, especially on a rotissiere (spl)

all that is not necessary if he's not ready for that stage... some simple braces welded in will do just fine.

i like where your thinking about this, why not move the rear back too and straight axle the front on leafs....would be so awesome.

Eric, I would definately do some through floor frame connectors and put them in before you cut that much floor/firewall out.....

Yeah I'm not cutting anytime soon. I'm trying to things in steps, but one issue I may run into is I've heard the car should have its full weight on the tires when subframes are installed. I've also heard you can do them with just the shell.
Anyone have any input?

It's my understanding that you just want it on it's wheels on the ground. I'll be doing mine with the engine out.

Well I haven't done anything with the car lately. I took a break for a couple of months to work on the house. This is a test of the long term commitment I made to myself to keep the car and keep the ideas flowing. The nice thing is I'm not all stressed about a time-line and I can take time off from the build.
At some point I'm going to paint the darn undercarriage!
Anyway thats it for now..........

I'm tossing the idea of going with a tan color for the exterior. I've been on a coyote/desert sage/Multicam kick with my gear lately and I think tan is the new od green.
Here are a few examples and quick photochops (yeah its not a 4 eye), let me know what you think. The interior would still be od green as most military vehicles are still painted that way.
Desert sage Chinooks':

1.

2.

3. Multicam just for kicks
