night shot help
i have a nikon d40(kid i got it from didnt have the manual) nd it was my first night shot with a wide angle/fish eye lens. how can i get rid of the shadow here is the pic. sorry for the big pic

The lens itself is blocking the pop-up flash. This is solved a few different ways:
1. Get a hotshoe flash, may or may not solve the issue.
2. Shoot off-camera flash.
3. Use a lens that's not so wide.

ok thank you. but i tried taking that shot with out the flsh but it didnt come out right i was having trouble trying to find the setting for a night shot. a friend was telling to change the shutter speed but can find it.

There is not night mode. You're beyond that now. The only difference between day and night is the amount of light so you need to learn to adjust accordingly. There's a thread with general tips and suggestions in this forum that will help you a lot.
You have a dial on top of the camera with numerous modes. Look for S/M/A/P on the dial, they're important. S = Shutter, M = Manual, A = aperture, P = Program.

You don't want that "fisheye" though. Horrible quality, next question from this guy will be about how to fix the quality of the shots from his cam because of this lens.
