Some AWESOME Auto Photography (w) Lighting Diagrams...
I would be interested in seeing the process start to finish on some of these photos. Maybe you should do some youtube videos.
The interesting thing is that most people think lighting or CS technique makes for great images, I'm a little past posting 'proof' of in camera ability but there is work on YouTube and I like to save the tutorials for my Land Rover and Jaguar seminars where I can shoot on stage and people get to see live whats possible.
The point here is that lighting is a personal thing and if I showed you a set up it would be useless to you if you copied it as you would never want to have it exactly in that position as light, temp and position would be different in some way no matter how small, what is more use is if you go out there and 'try' new things for yourself. CS, well I don;t use it like most people as my background is in printing years ago so I still shoot with a finished print in mind. I know I do a reasonable job as Scott Kelby has featured me a few times on his site, however he does respect the fact that I use it 'my way' and again whats wrong with people putting some effort in to find there own way?
If it was as easy as following a few YouTube vids and a few lighting setups then you could do six figures as a car photographer then everybody would be trying to do it. The truth, well to be a success the photography is about 10% of it, there's a lot of other stuff that you need to know and its a very hard game with lots of sharks in the same tank, occasionally somebody comes fishing and they end up with a bigger fish than they can manage to land without getting eaten...
Forget photoshop, get out there and light, be creative, use your imagination, stop looking at other peoples work and do something of your own. When you come to process do as little as you can, and use it like a darkroom, adjust tone and shade etc.
Make sense? , not sure I'm sure I'll still just get a reply 'Can you prove you did this shot in camera...' the truth, I can but whats the point and who am I proving anything to because I certainly would like to think somebody reads this and it hits a nerve to make them feel inspired to try things properly for a change rather than just endlessly debating it.

+1... Great to have your input, inspirational work... not a big fan of the camo Land-Rover, whats the concept???
This is CS work and was quite major, well by mt standards anyway, why?
well thats what the client wanted and if thats what they want then thats what I'm going to give them as its not an art form when if comes to work, 'its a business'

I track all image usage worldwide, pays to do so however on forums like this I'm cool its no issue, you'd be surprized just how many places my stuff ends up. As long as its not commercial use its no problem.
Maybe of interest, shows a lighting set up at the Land Rover HQ in Halewood UK where I do some of my seminars, its also shows in some ways a before and after b ut from the sense not of the RAW and the finished TIFF but the scene as the eye sees it and then what can be done with lighting to get that into the camera. Hope somebody here gets the drift....
