IDK, I think it's because of the little work put into it. If I take photos of someones car it takes me an hour at max, then maybe an hour with PP. That would be $700 according to you and wow I would have a guilty conscience. It's something I like to do and I'd feel wrong doing that just for some photos. Yes they are done by someone that knows what they are doing... but $350/hr... geez. Vegas must me alot more expensive to live in than FL

Right now I have on my website an automotive shoot is $100 + travel charges if not in my zipcode.
And everything else is $45/hr + travel charges. I originally had it at like $75/hr but I felt bad and changed it
He charges $350 for big/important events, not little spur of the moment car shoots for friends.

That is his profession and he obviously has a good reputation in Vegas since he gets to shoot all these big events. If he can charge $350 an hour and have steady customers, more power to him.

I'm sorry but a random joe that goes out and buys an XSI or any other base model DSLR is not a professional. It's merely a hobby. If people want pictures of their car, use it as an opportunity to better yourself and improve your photography.

my .02

If you know what you are worth then get it.
Lol all I know is that I, myself, would never in a million years pay someone $350/hr to cover an event I was hosting. At that rate I'd rather go out, buy myself a nice camera, teach myself 5mins worth of photo taking skills right before and do it myself.

I know your very good at what you do and have all the nice toys to do it with (lucky sob). I'm just speaking in general here, not at you. I mean if you can get people with deep pockets to pay that, milk it for all it's worth and then some.

I guess you dont understand that it is his profession, as in his main source of income.

^That's nice? Could've sworn I was talking towards Mr. Powers but I get two random people jumping in? I don't need your .02 kaluwa & kumar, this isn't an argument lol. I'm just curious how that much can be charged & he's giving me the answers.

I don't care if you post, your members of here just like me you have the right lol. I'm just saying why post what he just said? It's as if your trying to get me to loose my cool or something.

No, two people can share the same opinion. But like you said, he's the professional and we are the joe schmo's. If he already voiced that opinion why would you just restate it? lol.

He uses it to put food on his table and keep the lights on, we do it because we're cool photog's and enjoy the random TR members posting "woah those shots are awesome how did you do that"
