Basically it boils down to this.
You spent three days baby-sitting. I assure you everyone did a better job simply because you were there.
How boring is your life that you are able to spend three days doing nothing other than sitting around watching other people work?
I don't have a clue what you do or how much you make but I know if I had three days of vacation time/paid time off/sick leave etc. that I would not even remotely think about sitting around a body shop watching some UTI drop-outs trying to prove they have more brains than the dust on the shop floor.
Realistically I wouldn't be willing to stand around for anything less than $150 a day. You may be different.
Now YES there may not be any overspray anywhere, but I assure you that they did not do the same job of prepping your car that I or any of the handful of quality painters on this site would have done. Hell simply sanding the car with a DA would have taken half the day to do properly. Then there are all kinds of edges, grooves, and areas around seals that require extra attention to make sure they are scuffed well.
Do you know what happens to areas that don't get scuffed well? At first nothing. They look good for a while. Then the paint starts to lift, water gets under the paint, a crack appears, the water seeps further under the paint, and before you know it you have spots all over your car where your nice new paint job isn't so nice any more because the paint is coming off.
Will it happen? Maybe, maybe not. No way to tell until it happens at this point. But add in the fact that you have a cheaper quality paint stacked on top of poor/quickly done prep work and it just basically seems inevitable.
If Sherwin-Williams was as good as a paint as you say it is, it would not need to be talked up. Good paint speaks for itself.

see this is why you will learn from your mistakes... the damage that lighter does to your paint in 60 seconds will represent what the sun will do in 6 months. you keep calling people know it alls. you think because you spent a couple days listening to the dumbasses providing the shitty paint jobs that you know alot about paint?
these guys you talking shit to charge 3000 dollars for a color change for a reason, thats what an oem paint job costs. not because there labor is worth 300 an hour, because there charging reasonable hourly rates and taking more time doing it.
being a mechanic/fabricator, not a painter/bodyman, i get to watch and see the weeks worth of work that goes into fitting a bodykit the right way quality work takes time, and time costs money, end of story.
cheap paint is cheap for a reason, quality paint costs what you spent in paint and labor

b*tch this is easy its obvious real paint shops are going to do betteer than maaco even YOU know it that why u sat there for 3 days and watched! if u had any confidence in them u woulda taken ur happy as home cus u KNEW it would come out right .. and the people here saying it are not the ignorants one they know their shit and jlmaxima (aka the guy with the caps ) is right bring ur car to a real shop and well pick out that "amazing" paint job and let u know how much it will cost to fix that shit maaco did ... u got a good "deal" dont confuse that with a good "paintjob"
