This is what happens when your stupid.
What's up guys, havent been on in a little bit, still been working on collecting parts for my rebuild, only need a few more things, well, until now that is.
I went out friday night at about midnight, I had been cooped up in the house and I really wanted to go driving, so I got in my 240 and left out of the back gate of my apartment complex, in which there is a sweet S curve followed by a long straight-away. I ripped it around the S curve and threw the wheel, everything was going baller until I over compensated on my counter-steer, I swung right, swung left, and pulled a 180 as I slammed into the curb. -_-
I knew immediately that I was fucked, that's all I was thinking was that I just fucked my car, sure enough, upon further inspection, I had snapped my tension rod, which I guess isn't too suprising.
my whole driver side wheel set-up is fucked. Both rims and tires are ruined, and I'm pretty sure I have been something on the rear too because it's got some positive camber going on haha, the front is in the back of the wheel-well, with some crazy positive camber as well.
Finally, my clutch is all screwy, I have to almost press it through the floor in order to get the car to start and to shift it properly, so something is wrong there too.
But the car still starts and runs fine, it's just not drivable at all.
I'm working on snagging a storage unit and a tow truck this week, along with 2 sets of jack stands and a floor jack, and get it moved and lifted because my complex will tow it themselves if I can't get it moved.
I'll get some pictures up tomorrow, but I got to ask, aside from a def snapped tension rod and a most likely (but hopefully not) bent control arm, anything else I should inspect from the top your head? I mean of course as soon as I get it up off the ground I'll be able to look alot better, but for now I can't really inspect it like I want too.
I was thinking I'd take this time to remove the whole front subframe (and probably rear subframe) and go from there, replace both tension rods and control arms, save for coilovers blah blah, since I cancelled my insurance and will be riding my bike until it's ready to roll again. I think it would be a perfect time to start really overhauling this thing from suspension to engine, and drop it back down a leaner and meaner machine. Back to the accident though, any tips and feedback will be awesome-sauce.

Act like an idiot on a track in a controlled environment instead of on the street.
Yeah I hear you guys on that one, I don't know what came over me honestly, I was just thinking about how I need to go to the track and play it smart, then I go get in my car and play it stupid, I don't know. I guess I needed to learn the hard way, and here it is.
Well the passenger side of the car took no impact whatsoever, and everything is straight as an arrow on that side, it's the driver side that is mangled haha, the control arm is definitely warped up, the tension rod and tie rod are ruined, and it looks like the mounting point for the rear control arm / rear subframe tore apart, so I think I'm going to need a new rear subframe.
I also did hop the curb for a second, so that is most likely what's up with the funny clutch play, I've been wanting a braided line to replace it with anyways so here's my opportunity.
So I know what I NEED to do, new control arms on both sides, both new tie and tension rods, new clutch line, replace the rear subframe, and save for coilovers since all 4 struts are blown. (since I bought the car)
I guess what I really want to know is should I buy aftermarket or OEM control arms and tie / tension rods? I'll be pulling everything off as soon as I can to be 100% on all of this but for now that's what it's looking like.

lol do you really need an answer? I learned my lesson for sure. I've got a 2000 dollar shopping list so far.
Isis basic HR coils, energy suspension master bushing set, Isis clutch line, Isis GT exhaust, the XXR's and 4 new tires, probably will squeak out some new brake pads and tie rods. Picking up a minty subframe tomorrow, hopefully gonna get the front CA's and tension rods too. See ya in two months haha, works picking up and I just clocked in 44.5 hours this week. I'll be rolling out in no time.

ya bro sucks but here is a good time to take that thing and bring it back to life everything new and it will be one of the cleanest cars in and out do it right if u have the time and money. it will be woth a lot more cash wise and too you seeing all the plans u have. with the amount of driftiners out here 240s are gettign rare and usually people after wrecking them bad will just toss the car and take parts for what they need for the next 240. hope it all goes well.
