Ah heads that are actually capable of something worthwhile in the airflow department, transmissions that are capable of withstanding some real power, and alternators over 100A scare you, got it..

Still not sold on the LS1 being the best option....I only say this because when I used to go to the track w/ the Viper guys, of course the Vette guys would always want to be out on the track at the same time and they became friendly rivals...then sitting around at lunch one of the Vette guys asked Chuck how often he has had to rebuild the motor on his almost decade old motor and he laughed (because he NEVER had to) and 3 different Vette guys got pissed because they were all on their 2nd and third motors ( 1 of them only had a 1.5 year old ZO6)

and these were experienced race car guys, not weekend idiots or young punks...??

Way too many variables, way too little info here for you to use this as some sort of reasonable point.

Plenty of them go down the track, weekend after weekend, and same cars down the street during the week, without any sort of frequent rebuild.

You've got about as much logic there as mr 1UZ heads flow awesome, oh they dont flow as much as unported truck heads, well hey they still flow a hair more than 97-98 LS1 heads, so they automatically are better than all things "LS1"

Not about logic, It is about DIE HARD Vette Guys that track (Road Course) their cars and have had to go through multiple motors...

Guys that run Sebring/Moroso/Road Atlanta etc etc

When I have watched them drive, raced along side them at 140mph, and seen the way they maintain their cars and they STILL had problems....and it was not 1 guy, not even 2, but 3 different guys???

Three whole guys ?

I guess they should let all the other people not having problems, know that they are doing it wrong, while they are at it, please have them let the people running CTS-V's in scca world challenge that they arent allowed to do that, 3 guys had some problems, or screwed up, and thus all gen3/4 sbc's must be rebuilt every other week, if weekly oil change is performed, every week if oil change is not done, also valve lash is to be adjusted every 100 miles.

Kthanx

wow, I always give you the benefit of the doubt, but you really are a dipshit aren't you???

When did I saw ALL?? I said I was "still NOT sold"....don't get all fucking pissy just because your GODLY of V8 motors "might" not be everything you think it is. and 3 out of the 5 guys I ran with and watched at the track with PERSONAL experience IS significant after listening to the stories they tell about their aquaintences having serious issues with them and constantly dumping money into them...

but whatever dude you are the coolest kid in school! hooray for you.

......Hey Osama wait up!

Wow you sure are touchy, a little amusing sarcasm and you light right off

Seriously, there are plenty of people who have thrown rockers from sr's, spun plenty of rod bearings, everything follows the rule, if it has tits or tires....

There are people who screw up building every type of engine, there are plenty who do it right, with the number of people who have done it right with the LS1, i'm sorry if I have to believe the small handful you've found who have troubles, are not the standard to judge by.
