I really dont think its that they are overlooked, there are many things to consider when choosing an engine / drivetrain package, the LS1 or rather gen3/4 sbc's just often cover many points better than the other available choices when all things are considered.

Stock for stock but as I said before, who's running a stock motor? Seriously...

An ls1 is a great daily driver as far as all that goes. I'm just saying that there are other options. I was speaking more in general.

Stock vs stock, modified vs modified it really doesnt matter, the LS1 makes plenty of power in stock form, go to modifying it and head selection gets retarded, ported stockers flowing nearly, and probably some above 300 cfm intake, 500 rwhp NA isnt exactly impossible, mid to high 400's with daily driveability easily.

But as I was saying when you consider the entire drivetrain as a package, ECU, transmission, front drive accessorys, maintaining it, aftermarket parts availability, even stock items available to put it into other chassis, I'm certain I overlooked nothing that would have done close to what I wanted.

Or we could just get m6 v10's and make stock 500hp at 7700rpm's instead of 350 hp at 5500rpm

How doesn't it matter?! The debate was on stock heads....

I agree as far as a whole package that the lsx series is a good route but this he's back to what I was saying before...

Are you going to put a stock T5 behind a built 400-600whp sbf? Of course not, these are all things that should be on the list if you are building a car anyway.

You're stating the obvious.

It's all about flow and the ls1 happens to have it in stock form.
