brake upgrade
I just wanted to add a few points to this discussion. JDMdriven previously said that the Z rotor is 10.1" which it isn't. I just finished doing the 26mm Z upgrade (almost exactly like Mattback's) about 3 hours ago on the S13. They are most definetly 11" rotors and about 1" thick. I put these under my 91SE wheels with no spacers and they fit fine. I used Mountain (japanese company) rotors, non-slotted, non drilled, and modified for 4-lug. The brake lines are the SS heavy throttle conversion ones.
Just for reference, the stock S13 brakes are 9.8". Also, the Silvia brakes I took off of my clip are have 11" rotors and slightly larger pads. I was suprised at how similar in size the rotors and pads were between the Z and Silvia, except that the Silvia is still single piston.

yes i am sorry, the Z rotor is 10.9 inch. i misread a article wrong. if you want some more info about brake upgrades, there is an article on sport compact car's website. http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/te...cc_projsilvia/
if this helps at all, here is a part of the article that might help
2: Use cheaper brakes.
If you aren't planning on making 300 hp, or plan on using it only on the drag strip, Brembos or even 300ZX brakes are overkill. 10.9-in. '90-'96 Infiniti Q45 brakes use 10.9-in. rotors with large, two-piston sliding calipers, and bolt on if you re-drill them for a four-lug. The 11.6-in. brakes from the '97-'01 Q45 should fit as well, be we haven't tried that. -Sport Compact Car

Ok, now we know the sizes and what will work and what will not , I do realize that most of you do not care what their brakes look like but I have 18in wheels which allows you to see the caliper and rotor very easily, I would have to say the 300tt brakes give the car a nice BIG brake look and the Q45's brakes keep a stock clean look...but that's just me...
