jdm Driven, did you need to get longer studs and a 1/4 spacer so the inside of the rim cleared the brake caliper when using brakes from the Q45 ? when I upgraded to TT brakes I had to buy longer studs from NISMO so the wheel was secure and cleared the calipers...

vapor, talk to estevan about making the z32tt rear calipers work on 13s and 14s. he is the first guy i know of to run the e brakes with the z32tt rear calipers. project silvia did it before them ,but did some heafvy mods to the rear brake cables and what not.

honestly i dont know, i had to use spacers for my rim to clear my coilovers before i had my brakes. so i am not sure, i wish i wasnt the only person who did this brake conversion so more people could field some of these questions. i wouldnt believe you would need them on the S14 because my stock rims will fit without spacers and not hit the brakes. it might be different with the S13s though.

keeping things light is what I have in mind for the front of my car, especially with a larger motor up front.

with that in mind, i went with the 1990 non turbo 300ZX 26mm aluminum front calipers with fresh rebuilds, and crossdrilled KVR cadmium plated front rotors. it's the lightest combo I can go with and still have a great upgrade from the stock brakes, which can't cope with 170-->60 braking expos easily.

the rear of my car is just good old 1998 s14se rear rotors and stock calipers, no need for anything bigger at this time

stopping a 2400lb car will be very very easy with my setupk, the z32 brakes work excellent.

When the time comes, i'll have AP racing 6 pot with 14.25" rotors up front, and the z32master cylinder with z32 rear brakes hahaha. probably 2 years from now, I just can't see spending 1800+ ojn bbrakes right now.

ok then, I'll probably go with the q45 or z32tt calipers up front, stock rears, and aftermarket rotors.

john, this is the guy with the setup i am doing. but he has alot of info about lsd's and brakes, put together with collaboration from freshalloy and such a long time ago.

http://www.cautioncreativity.com/briand/Q45%20Brake.htm

the main site is http://www.cautioncreativity.com/briand

the only modification to putting the q45's on an s14 is to cut the dust shield off. they are a great budget brake system since for the fronts you dont need to use "conversion" lines, and could technically run the stock rubber lines if money was tight (but i dont see why who in their right mind would, spend the extra $100 and do it/bleed it while its all out anyways). 90-96 works and i see greg has verified that he has 97-98s too. they are plentiful in junkyards if you look hard enough. usually in good shape too.
you dont get the cool NISSAN logo on the caliper but id rather keep it simple/stock/sleeperish. the 300zx calipers are fixed. q45s are sliding calipers. the 300's are firmer with ss lines than q45s but no difference in stopping power when i compared them to his friend's that had z's on a comparably modded s14. pedal feel is all about getting used to it anyways.
