Issues after swap...
Fellas,
After my engine swap to the "new" shell I have a ton of issues from no spark to no power to my fuel pump. It appeara that the harness was messed with os i may need to do a harness swap for the netire car...
If there is anyone that could lend a hand that would be great. This is my daily so i need it running asap. text @ 7274170909...i'll be under the hood trouble shooting.
Thanks,
-Royce

Sorry...its a twice came...KA24de...swapped from one '93 hatch to another '93 hatch. My wiring harness (upper an lower engine hanress/ECU was transplanted into the other shell, but the harness that was still in the car, interior and what not, by the fuel pump was hacked up in the other car. Looks like someon had tried to install a relay by the pump. But I have no spark either? swapped in a 2nd coil, same results.
I'm stumped...

check grounds... get a test light, and make sure key on power is working .and then see if ya have power to dizy and FP relay.....sounds like a chassis(elec) problem...

I bit off the project earlier in the week and its been a tall order. My build thread is going to updated in detail but i sure wanted a happy ending to the tale , not a frustrating one. I've been testing the crap out of everything but will take those suggestion on next. I dont even have power to the coil?? Relays appear to only switch when manually prompted to do so. Its been a tough day so I need to get away from this for a few hours at least. thanks for your input

sounds like a dash harness problem.
or at the very least, the ignition switch took a crap on you.
I'd start there, pull the column apart and take the switch apart. or, just straight replace it with the one from your old car since you know that one worked.
I would also want to know if the ECU is getting power. The check engine light should come on when the key is in the run position. (the ecu should think the engine is running, but since it isn't turning, non of the sensors are giving it info, so it thinks there is a problem) If the check engine light doesn't come on, then un bolt the ecu and do it again and this time, look to see if the diagnostic lights are lighting up. They come on when the check engine light comes on. This will rule out the possibility of the check engine light being burnt out, and or removed. If they don't light up, then you're not getting power to the ECU.
This could be an ignition switch issue, but since you said the starter was engaging, I doubt it is the switch.
It could also be a fuse issue. Go over those main fuses by the battery. I believe it is the big 75 amp fuse (not 100% sure, been a while since I've been under a 240 hood) if that fuse is bad, then the ECU won't get power at all, and the ECU tells both the coil to work, and the fuel pump to pump.
Best bet, is to break out the FSM and go down the flow chart of reasons why the ECU isn't getting power. It should even tell you what wires to test in the harness to see if it is a harness problem.

Empire, actually when that big 75 amp fuse goes out, the car will still run but no electronics will work. That happened on a buddys sr coupe where the alt wire from the lower harness was grounding out on the case of the alt, which popped the 75 amp.

Checking out royce's earlier made me want one again. getting the 240 itch.
Car is all set and now running like a champ with some help from Phil and Gary. Thanks again... It was just a plug that wasnt seated right...now to correct the short in my lighting system, urrgh.
Thanks guys!
