Beams 3SG/6spd into S14?
if you're not familiar with these engines, look them up and you'll understand why its a potential candidate to be my S14's power plant.
moving on, this seems to be a pretty straight forward layout, the mounting seems easy enough but its the electronics that concerns me. does anyone here know if I would run into the same computer chipped key issue that people deal with when it comes to the VQ35 swap? from what I understand you pretty much need to run a standalone to get those operational.
possibly anything else i might run into? these are going for about $2000 shipped from canada, producing a solid 205 N/A hp @7500 rpms these things are pretty ballsy in stock form, not to mention a pretty capable 6 speed.

Probably going to have to deal with some sort of antitheft issues in the ecu, too new to not have it, might have more luck with specifics in the toyota forum.
However, for the cost you're really looking at the wrong drivetrain, you're still going to have to do everything required for a transplant, and there are much better choices out there.
Hell I wouldnt put it down as a better choice than a properly setup SR, let alone the fact that a properly running SR with just boltons will make roughly 100 HP more.

Seriously, cross off the beams, if you want to consider something other than LS, make it RB, or SR+VE.
Hell even doing SR+VE and staying NA would make more sense than the Beams, same HP far less headaches.
The Beams setup is going to cost you nearly the same as an LS swap, and leave you far far under power wise.

Beams isn't that impressive of a powerplant. In it's day, it was pretty sweet. 210hp NA in 1998, when Nissan was getting 200hp NA from the SR16VE. You'd be hard pressed to make 200whp from the Beams in a street trim. Plus they're hella expensive. With an SR-DE rwd block, SR20VE for the head/pistons/crank/rods, S15 6sp, a few choice 20V parts, and an S14DET ECU, you can have the same thing for less and have it all bolt in. I would do a BEAMS if I were building an old Toyota or lightweight IS300, but that's about it. But, hey, not my call.
The ECU is cake. Apexi makes a PowerFC for it. Done.
If I were going cross-brand 4cyl, I would drop an F22C in there. Plenty of copies and support in the US, lightweight, compact, and VTAK.

VQ35 no longer needs a standalone.. Martin can get it running on the floor and can delete and modify any part of the specifics to make it run with all gauge and instruments working.. on whatever car you want.

/\ didn't he just start doing this, like within the past couple of months or so?

You can plan on ditching that basically S15 6spd if you plan on making any power and plan to drift it. So plan on a W58/R154 swap that you will either need a custom bellhousing/adapter for or a SA63 W5* housing that you will still have to modify to work. Not sure about the ECU. If you really wann do a 3S just do a 3SGTE can be found cheaper, locally, can use a stock ECU, Yamaha head, solid lifters, and good aftermarket. Just ask Sean Kriner about ANYTHING 3S. And Jordan you are just going to sell it in a week anyways
