yup, Empire its that black stuff used to adhere you windshield to your car...pretty stiff stuff. You cant get it at most autoparts stores...the trick is finding the smaller diameter gun to shoot the stuff.

z28ricer, whatcha mean, locked design?

You can see where the metal insert halves are interlocked, you could melt all of the poly completely gone, and it would still hold together.

Those halfass mounts everyone includes with so called swap kits all over are a joke.

*facepalm*

we're not all like that... just like the faggot honda kids that ruin it for the "legit" honda guys...

all this shit fails hard as fuck... i've seen people use grade 8 bolts (at least they did that right), with like 25 WASHERS stacked up...

just go buy some fucking OEM mounts (will be stiffer than your 20 year old mounts anyways because they're new), Nismos, or do the window weld around your OEM old ass ones... i think window weld would be the best/safest bang for the buck...

i wouldn't want a 75hp single cam to have hockey pucks, rubber mallets, washers, rubber duckies, duct tape or any of that shit to hold my motor firm in place...

The thing with hockey pucks, is that your motor is held in place by the hardware you use, the hockey puck is only to provide an isolator to cushion between the mount bracket and the car, it should be just as strong as anything else.

I actually have a buddy (Used to be on FL drift before they failed and then refailed) who did the hockey pucks on a ka in an s13. The ka was stock, but the car had coils+some kind of a 2 way diff. I drove the car and it felt good,he had them on for a while and had no probs. He even drop kicked his motor to show me how stiff they were, sure as hell was stiff. So far no probs reported but I havent talked to him in a while. Not condoning this method just posting experience.

I personally would prolly never do it, I have JTO super solids, and Kazama solids, and oems in my cars. If I were going to do somthing like this I would do the oem mount w/poly or the window stuff around it to stiffen things up.

I was actually talking about this stuff - Loctite PL Premium 28 oz. Polyurethane Construction Adhesive - 1390594 at The Home Depot
seems like the same stuff, just cheaper, and uglier. lol

Hm. Well. I drove in ca89s13's car last night with the Kazama mounts. It felt pretty good. But not $300 good. I think Ill try to come up with an interlocked angled design, and if thats too much work Ill probably end up with something inbetween Nismo's and Kazamas..

If you are really that hard up for something more than the stock mounts, just buy a pair of the ES mounts (theyre ~30$ea) and weld up some brackets...

Circuit sports poly mounts are like $80. And they're a bolt through design...
