s13 problem. Need Help.
update again. It starts then shuts off in between a minute or 2. it don't bog but just automatically shuts right off. starts it again and starts but then dies again. repeated about 5x just now. so i'm thinking it might have a bad fuel pump?

changed the fuel pump to another one. car started got to a gas station and got gas. started the car but it did the same issue. had to get it home so kept trying to get it going .died 20x or more. took 4 hours to get home.....home distance is only 15 minutes away......

get it to start. let it idle for as long as it will. when it dies, immediately check for spark coming off of the coil.
If no spark, then the coil is bad.
If the coil is sparking when you try to start it again, then it is the CAS in the distributor. Swap out the distributor with one that you know is good and assuming you didn't mess up the spark timing, it should start right up.

did that the other night. it sparks but very low. my friend said the timing was off. he fixed it enough to get home. when it got home it seemed fine. then yesterday i started it and it started just fine. did it couple of times during the day. So it Seemed Like it was Fix so I decided to take it out for a test drive to a store couple blocks down the street. drove, then out of no where car just dropped rpm to "0" and wouldn't go forward. i shifted it in the next gear it backfired Very Loud. Got to the store, parked and waited to see if it would shut off. it didn't so i let it cool down for about an hour. then decided to take back home. during the trip back it just stalled. tried to restart it but it just cranks...tried couple more times and it started. took it home and parked it.

you checked to see if the coil was sparking and you said it sparks low?
The spark coming right off the coil should be enough to fucking hurt.
Get a new coil on there and see if that fixes the problem.
at this point, I would say that your coil is bad. I forget how to test it with a multimeter. I know it can be done. But I've always had a spare that I knew was good that I would just swap out if I thought I needed to.

i will check that. 1st i'm have to find one. i've tried one couple days ago. i swapped the maf and the ignition box. everything. and it still cuts off. so i count that as not needed to be replaced.

bump im having along the lines of the same problem mine will run but not rev past 4000 if im driving then when i drive it longer than like 25min it deis out i let it sit and then it turns over????? its killing me i have to practice 40min away everyday and school please help!!

get a known to be good MAf on there, and then reset the ECU and see if that fixes it.
