Default s13 problem. Need Help.

Hello TR, I'm Having A Issue With My Car Stalling Out While I'm Driving.

Would Not Start After Car Shuts Off. Have To Wait For A Few Minutes. Sometimes It Will Start,Other Times It Will Hesitate. When It Can Start It Will Go But Bog Out. Rpm Gauge Hops Around Then Drops And Dies. I'm Wonder If This Is A Common Issue. Any Suggestions To The Issue Would Help.

yeah, you're describing what sounds to me to be a bad coolant temp sensor.

they are cheap, just get a new one and see if it makes it any better

are you getting any codes from the ECU?

No I'm Not Getting Any Codes. Today I'm try to replace the Coolant Temp. I was about to leave my work. Car started, decided to see if i can drive it home. got to the entrance and about to leave car just shuts off....Now Its Left At Work. I'm Go To Advance or something to see if they have one in stock. i will get back on here asap if i run into another issue. thanks for your help. i guess no one else had this kind of issue.

to me it sounds like you are getting a vacume leak, maybe a something is coming just loose enough to have a leak after driving

the coolant temp sensor is actually a really common issue.
it is just that most of us had to replace ours over a year ago. That's all we used to talk about on the forums was that damn sensor.
There is one for the gauge and one for the ecu. Make sure you are replacing the one for the ecu.

I would agree with civic99, except that you can start it and let it run for a few minutes, and that is typically the coolant temp sensor.

beyond that, it could be your fuel pump taking a crap on you. If it is going bad, then it could have just enough nuts to get the car started, but it won't be able to keep up with itself to keep the car running and it will eventually trip the relay and shut off.

either neither one of those are the problem, then I would start going through the basics.
could be bad spark plugs. a bad wire. Your coil could be going bad. It would test fine when it is cold, but the resistance could be way way too high once it gets hot. Same with the wires.

thanks. i just replaced the one that goes on the intake manifold. it seems like its running now. i shut it off 3x and it starts up. I'm hopeing it solved the issue.i'm take it on a test drive when i get to go on break at work. so far its running. If its the fuel pump i'm replace it if it gives me any further issues.

I've looked for leaks but didn't notice any.

another issue is that it's misfiring even on idle.

yes the one that goes on the intake. the one that has a red box that plugs. and a round back end.

around 700.

the car will idle. but when its idling you can hear the pop sounds, that sounds like backfiring or misfiring. not to loud just normal.
