Default rear end problem, also, starter problem, help?

Well, my taurus is starting to fall apart, first things first, its having a lot of trouble starting lately, when the key turns, the starter will click real fast, after turning it a few times and waiting it will barely start to run, now, this just the starter needing to be replaced? I'm sure it is, but figured i'd check.

Also, the rearend is making these weird ass grinding noises, but its random when it occurs, seems to happen more when its wet though. Obviously I'd assume it was the rearbrake drums, but I had the entire assembly on both sides replaced like 6 months ago. Also, if its making these noises and I backup, it sounds 20 times worse for about 5 feet then stops. And its only at low speeds, and will go away once I start to speed up, and come back when i slow down, but even once i release the brakes it will keep going. This is driving me nuts.

Moving to ford tech.

Have you checked the battery?
My first thought on the rear end noise is the wheel bearings.

As far as the starter problem, I'd have the batery load tested (free at parts stores) if batery checks okay maybe a weak solonoid.
Brakes sounds like adjusters dragging or return spring come off. Pull drums and have a looksy.

As stated the starting issue sounds like a battery as to what your describing.

As for the rear end....hard to say with out hearing it.

Good luck.

It always works like that dont it. Use to deal with that kinda stuff at the dealership all the time lol. Customer would complain about a noise I would drive it not hear a thing then take a ride with the customer and all they say is "I swear it is making a noise, its just not doing it now"

well, I took it to goodyear where i used to work to talk to them about it, and check a price on tires. I asked about the nosie and he's just like, I dont know, we'll have to take a look at it, price wise, it could be 5 or 500. Guy was clueless, and noone i knew when i worked there was there anymore.

So, im like well Ill bring it back tomorrow, I can't today, and he goes, well it could turn from 5 to 500...and I just say, well its been doing this for 3 weeks, and walked off. Not to mention he's gonna try to charge me 100 bucks for "diagnostics" to see what it is...guess Ill do it myself.
