Charging problem.
So I finally got my car to run. everything is done. I drove it home from the shop today, (I work at it, no one did the work for me) but as they say....."Its always something"
My alternator is damn near brand new. I have under drive pulleys. It worked fine before I did my swap. Charged great. I have a optima yellow top. Everything worked GREAT before in my old car. For some reason the gauge is reading like 7 volts. I put the battery on a charger and it started up great, ran great, then after turning it off and having to start it up again and again over the days the battery slowly lost power. It still holds a charge fine but unless its fully charged or has enough power to start the car on its own I have to jump the car every time to start it.
Normally when a car is started and the alternator is working the volts read around 12-13. Mine stays the same as if my car was never started. Then suddenly (sometimes) the gauge slowly rises to about 10v. then drops. All the connections are connected. Everything is getting a good ground. Does anyone have ANY ideas? Is this normal with under drive pulleys? And if so then why have i never had these problems before. ALSO I'm still using the factory 4cyl body harness. Will that make a difference?
Please help. I wanna drive my car and be done with all these problems lol.

what alternator do you have? the stock fox alts arent good for shit. especially with a pulley on it too. Mine will drop down to about 8volts on idle. lower if my msd is hooked up.

get an sn95 alt. they are 130? i believe the 88's were even lower amps then 93 as well.

youll need a 3g alt and the harness for it, and splice it into yours. theres writeups allover about this, just search for 3g alt upgrade.
