i don't know much about the 33 brakes, i would assume on the non Vspecs it would be the same 296mm. x 32mm as the R32's...

either way, it's not about my lame ass OEM rotors, it's about the brake pads... i've had drilled rotors before, with EBC Green stuff pads for example, and they never never made a peep...

although like the above link at my350Z, it seems as is the noise is quite common with the HPS pads...

wait do you have the hps or hp+ pads? they are two different compounds. the hps should be fairly noise free but the hp+ are notorious for noise.

I stand corrected then.

Either way HPS pads shouldnt squeel. And usually with high performance track style pads they make more noise when cold then when they're hot. So grease is needed.

And the only reason I can think the R32 GTR came with cross drilled rotors is that its so old it used pads that would cause gas build up between the rotor and pad surfaces. Brake pads now dont have that problem so cross drilled rotors are pretty much useless.

yeah, my Z came with cross drilled and slotted rotors.

I don't think the kid I bought it from even knew they were on there.

They do squeal a little bit every now and then, but I have no idea what pads are on there. Probably Wearever silvers or something crappy like that.

redoing the brakes all the way around and replacing the cross drilled with just slotted, or even blanks is on the to do list shortly after getting the engine running right.

yeah komron, it's annoying but it's not like it all the time....

still rocking them, thinking it might be pad drag, so what i might do is pull off the calipers, tear em down, rebuild them with a kit, have em powdercoated, and put em back on...

we'll see...

thanks for the input!
