You can cut the pipe with a hack saw? I had to do that once...
You should put a nickel on the EGR valve on the intake manifold side too (I believe) so you can remove the pipe entirely.
Or remove the entire valve and use that plate I linked to to block off the hole in your intake manifold.

heres my game plan.find a hack saw cut where the tube and header meet. take it to some exhaust shop make then weld the end that i cut and the other tube thats just hanging there. theres my problems solved. now i just need to get money to pay for this.

full on track cars can take a lot more liberties with shit than a street car. bell bottom kits and crazy wheel fitment look cool sliding on a track, but when i want to drive to taco bus, im going to ruin all of that shit. so it just doesnt work for me. function over fashion.

i just got done with doin that to mine... i had egr reomved since i got car and i just folded the pipe over as a temp till i had to take the header off the head. i actualy removed the threads for it and ground it down and rounded it out so i dont have that plug sticking out the exhaust mani... now i have to do that to the down pipe one...

I used the plate on the manifold. Haven't had any problems with it.
