Knock sensor bypass??
Hmm, well i wasnt looking on ebay, i was looking in town where i have a warranty against defect plus including cost of gaskets and coolant.... Ebay is good for certain things but i dont trust buying anything off of ebay that has to do with the runnability of my car.
But if anyone else is interested in how or whatever just want to look at it here is a site showing it on a 300zx which will work the same on a 240..

Your logic is infallible.
Failing to pull timing, like when you bypass a knock sensor, most certainly does result in long term damage:
You know what, I'm not going to escalate this further, i was just telling you that this was not a permanent fix but a temporary until I can buy a new sensor. Just do this thread a favor a shut up

Ha ha, your pretty funny, you stole this pic from a vintage snomobile site off of google... This piston burned up cause of a shorted spark wire..
Google Image Result for http://www.snowridermag.com/snowmobiles/images/piston-1.jpg
The thing is that there are plenty of cars that dont and never had a knock sensor and there are new cars today that dont have them, they are a fail safe to keep the engine from allowing the car to detonate when it thinks that its going to pre-detonate.
As long as you take care of your car and not being a retard, any car can run just fine with out a knock sensor. None of the pre computer cars had a knock sensor and they all seemed to run just fine.

You can't foresee everything, for example: bad gas, failed MAF, etc.
Pre-computer cars burned holes in pistons and/or didnt run as advanced timing.
Let me ask you this: Why would Nissan install the sensor if it had no practical use?
Good gah. Why do I even try?
Here ya go again, i never said that there was no use for them.. Damn your thick bro.
