Default Help Get my daily back daily-ing

So yesterday after driving for about three hours straight my car just died on me. no funny noises, just quite.

It would crank after some trying but would just die again after about another mile of driving. after letting the car sit for about an hour or so it made it the ten mile drive home without an issue, and then another ten or fifteen minute drive later that night, not a single issue.

died once again this morning about ten minutes into a drive...

when its running, nothing seems funny, idle is fine, vacuum reads fine. only thing funny that i have noticed is when its in a dying phase, when it does crank, my tach is delayed and jumps around a little, which leads me to the CAS.

fuel pump is fine also. all help is appreciated and repped, I need this figured out by thursday... lol

thanks Guys, Eric

Same thing happened to a buddies car.. I believe it had something to do with the timing needing to be re adjusted. Lower timing guide broke for some reason but it had those same problems. Good luck! If you need the work done call 727-656-9504 we can get it done for cheap.

maybe but i highly doubt it, my timing has been set and double checked. fresh everything... it runs perfect when it runs, and just dies out putting me at a bad sensor or a bad connection somewhere...

thanks ill keep it in mind though if nothing else comes along

Have you been working on it recently? you may have unplugged something on accident, It happends. But i would check all your grounds and then take a look at the alternator to make sure its not starting to die on you, also check the coil in the distributor,Make sure your getting a strong spark, check the ignition relay in the engine bay as well.

my first guess would be your altenator is not charging consistently. Swift kick will usually get them turning again (temporary)

If you find out that your ampage is straight on the altenator than its air related. Check your Throttle Body, make sure the butterfly isn't sticking. If its a drive by wire, might need recalibrating if you just recently removed it or disconnected the plug from the back of it.

have a different ecu to swap? I have seen this with ka's before. the ecu woudl warm up and have a certian circuit seperate and then it would die. also seen an sr ecu that would run fine but when you went to turn the car off like you normally would it would simple stay running. that was a bad ecu as well.
