FYI: There were 3 speed automatics in vehicles made until 1991 (727 torqueflite for instance in Wagoneers, HD Dodge Diesels, etc) and later for heavier duty commercial vehicle applications. People still use things like TH400s, C4s and 727a/bs for higher HP drag vehicles to this day. Even the 2-speed 'glide is still a popular choice even though the cases are getting harder and harder to find.

I'm no expert but I did learn from some of the best in the business. Transmission ignorance is one of my pet peeves.

back when i lived in BFE i used to have people ask me "you know your forud probe has one of dem exhaust leaks?" i'd spend the next twenty minutes explaining to them it was a nissan. man i don't miss white trash rednecks one bit.

i took a girl out on a date one night and being a gentleman i opened the door for her and let her in. i walked around the car and started to get in. as i sat i got hit with the "how do you operate three pedals with only two legs?" i got right back out, let her out of the car, and drove off.

non nissan related, but one night i got hungry at work and decided to hit up some kfc. i ordered and when i pulled up to the window the guy goes "are you a cop?" i guess the two tone crown vic, blue ass lightbar, and uniform didn't give me away.

I had some dude argue with me for about 20 minutes at Sonic that there was just "no way in hell" my 280zx ran more than 5psi. Apparently because his 1986 n/a 300zx on nitrous was fast, he felt that there was no way my 1983 zx had anything on his 50 shot.

5 minutes, 130mph, and about 20psi later, he changed his mind. edit: I say "about 20psi later" because the gauge stopped at 20, and I had it set to the 2nd "O" in "BOOST" on the gauge.
