if the dealership thinks ur worth a shit they will send you on ur way for the best training they can find..

my cousin went to erwin and hes bankin now..doesnt matter what school you attended its the tech that come outa the school it self..theres some dumb fucks that come outa uti and wyo and same with erwin but no matter what school you may have enrolled in as long as ur a good tech you shouldnt have to worrie about job placement and all that bs..if ur good ur gonna get a job.. if your just a complete failure well..ur only gonna get the job at jiffy lube..schools really dont matter much..


if ur a good tech you dont need to pay a school 30k to do the talkin for you

its really funny seeing a bunch of 18 year old morons that have never worked in a real shop in their life tell someone "how it is"

 

I wish I got some ASE certs. Its being a pain just to get a basic job at a dealership lately

 

whats stoppin you from gettin ur ASE's outa the way? just brush up on ur stuff and take them...or go to school

 

Besides the fact that ASE tests are geared towards old domestic (Chrysler/GM) technology, most manufactures don't require ASE certification like they used to. For example I only need to take VW Certification classes to become a master tech. Which, btw, VW (along with almost all mfg's) require techs to be certified, so you HAVE to go to training. It's not the dealerships choice to send you.

 

well it looks better, when you submit an app, and theres a few of the bigger dealerships that want it. and quite a few independent shops would like it as well. Id do it, im sure I would do pretty good without knowing what they cover on the rests, but it costs money to take them.

 

I'm not saying it wouldn't look nice on an application. I'm just saying ASE's dont really prove anything anymore, other than the fact people can pass a written test. Most manufacture's have begun to see this as well. I guess in the end it's just a crappy situation, lol. Good luck!
