AHH I was asuming this was a rebuild situation not a from the factory thing, from the factory you realy shouldent have a problem, but a avrage tranny builder will NOT check gap's, they will just put it togther and send you on your way, if there's a problem with the build most of them will fix it but if you beat the hell out of it from the moment you pick up the car they will tell you to F yourself, we had a few customer's do that and when they pulled back in they where told there warenty was now void...some douch actualy ran down the road at 60MPH IN REV.!!!! "to see how it would do"LOL and he was surprised when he was told dont come back LOL

It should be progressive, and you shouldnt drop the clutch within the first 2000mi, or at least I wouldnt, ESPECIALLY if it costs like 20,000$ for a new drivetrain when you break something. lol.

I dont see any need to break in the transmission, there are no wear items within the transmission, only clutch/flywheel/pp. Technically nothing comes in contact with anything i.e gears, shift collars, needle bearings etc, all of these ride on a thin layer of gear oil to prevent friction/wear. However I wouldent reccomend the 4500rpm drops, lauching a car is prolly the most stress a transmission will see, its trying to transfer engine power to drivetrain, if you have alot of grip the transmission wants to bind under force.

^^^^ you're crazy theirs no journal type bearings in a tranny and a lot of parts come in contact with eachother. i.e secltor hub-syncro-gear, gear to gear. all the bearings are either roller bearings or sealed cartridge bearings

I made a intake kit on one yesterday.. Guy just picked it up and said they made him sign a disclaimer that the chatter from the trans at idle was normal and that he would not bring the car in for service on that issue. BTW they require the buyers to go through a 2 hour educational class on the car.... They blew some smoke up his ass though to justify the $20K markup.... We had to send one of our techs to GTR school for a week that cost $6K and install a special GTR lift for $8K in the service department.

He asked them how that added up to $20K and would they charge everyone the same...
Not too bright.

Ya im crazy, a needle bearing is nothing like a journal bearing I dont know where you got that from, cause i distincly typed "needle bearing". Do you know how fast parts inside a transmission move? Do you realy think that if 2 gears touch eachother at those speeds that they will not create any friction or heat? They ride on a thin film of transmission fluid, not eachother. Have you ever rebuilt a transmission? Im hoping not.

so then let me get this straight if nothing ever comes in contact with each other then how the fuck do the gears propel you forward. im not some newbie to the world of aut mechanics, i've been a certified tech for 5 years. also if nothing ever wears in a tranny how do you explain the magnet on the drain plugs always full o metal particles. oh wait i forgot they put the metal in the gear oil.

Can you compress a liquid, No. The gears "propell you forward" beacuse they mesh with eachother transferring tq through a number of gears of diffrent sizes causing a "reduction", the shift forks move the collars over the syncros meshing them changing to another gear set. Like any fluid an excess of heat breaks down the fluid until it becomes thin causing gears to graze eachother, also driver error has to do with it, you cant tell me you have never accidently grinded a gear shifting it happens, i have. Im not doubting your intellegence just clarifying things.
