Theres a problem with this. No one is doing any work here. Everyone already knows why tire size is important, this is more useless than the millions of "my car won't start" threads we deal with in Honda/Acura Tech.

also, just to be "that guy", i think anyones car on this forum that runs has infinitely more grip than your project that hasnt been started yet.

As I already posted, I was using this as a segway into why they are better for street applications as well

Why wide tires are going to suck is that once you dial in your 2.5-3* of camber for that lateral grip
I am not slamming the car, nor am I running excessive amounts of negative camber, which is why I asked about fender flares in the other thread.

Aquaplanning is going to happen, and rain driving is unavoidable in FL.
34% more width is not going to turn the car into an instant death trap.

So yeah, wider tires are better for lateral grip (*** excluding a few times). Now all you need to is live at one end of Carillon and work at the other. I just hope that you're looking A-048's or better.... since we're looking for maximum grip and all.

Or we can go with the challenge-based response.... Take an Ariel Atom with 205/225 Advan's.
The Ariel Atom weighs 1,100lbs, that is 1.34 pounds for each mm of tire width, that is the equivalent of 525's on a s14. Thank you for proving my point for me epstein

i really dont think pounds per inch of tire width really has anything to do with anything.

I concur, look up friction. I will say that it doesn't scale quite so linearly, however it still proves my point, that that car has a lot of tire for its weight, more so than 275's on a s14.

that really isnt alot of tire.
its a practical size.

315 on an s14 is impractical.

but, hey, its your car.
knock yourself out.

What do you plan on doing to make the car turn? because the width and offsets your looking at are going to be hard for your steering system, inner and out fenders and the coil-over itself to fit in with.

And as for fender flairs... are you planning on cutting up perfectly good stock fenders to make them functional?

What are your plans for an alignment set up?

also, just to put it out there, a second gen miata weighs 2200 pounds, and in scc they pulled a g, on 205-45-16 dunlop sp9000's, or michelin mxx3 ( i dont 100% recall. either way, street tires)

is that closer to proving me right?
or at least you less right?
