Wide tires, lateral grip, and you
I was wondering what compression ratio would work best with a high boost application. Specifically 20psi on an H22. What kinda of pistons do you guys recommend? Would this be a safe build without reinforcing the lower end? Also, what about turbo and vtec? Friends? Enemies?

Yeah that's great. I can cut and paste Mark Ortiz's work, too. Wasn't your original argument about running wide tires on a STREET car though? This is a track-related article. Here's why it'll suck on the street.
Why wide tires are going to suck is that once you dial in your 2.5-3* of camber for that lateral grip, 1/3 of your tire width is flying in the air. That's going to really fuck up your straight line traction.
Plus, as mentioned in the first sentence, as your car is defined as a street car it'll undoubtedly get stuck in the rain. I had to drive in the rain 3 times last week in a car I swore would never see water. And we all know what happens when you drive around in a car with a ski on each corner. You find yourself backed half way up a tree like Nick Hogan. Aquaplanning is going to happen, and rain driving is unavoidable in FL.
So yeah, wider tires are better for lateral grip (*** excluding a few times). Now all you need to is live at one end of Carillon and work at the other. I just hope that you're looking A-048's or better.... since we're looking for maximum grip and all.
Or we can go with the challenge-based response.... Take an Ariel Atom with 205/225 Advan's. Now put some 275's on it. Can you tell me beyond a reasonable doubt that it'll be faster? I mean, come on! 225/245 would be reasonable, and I'm not hearing about the masses of people doing this. Makes you think....

pretty much to back what epstein said. and to reiterate my point.
its more important to have a properly sized tire, then just cramming the biggest widest piece of shit you can on there. proper car setup and dialing in goes alot further than just wide tires.
so your building a car? rad.
my car is built. and handles exellently.
post again when yours does the same.
