having to be warmed up to run better wouldnt be caused by emissions removing.
that sounds more like thermostat is missing.
if thats the case, and youre overheating, you have big problems, or, that fan is a piece of shit.

dump that fan, get either decent quality electrics, like mentioned.
or stock fan and shroud.. (the better option)

im a certified mechanic, and certified expert for the car line i work for. and have worked on cars for over 15 years.
and over 10 professionally.
and i have a really big toolbox.
but i dont know everything, just enough to get by.

and also, you just beat me on the thermostat post, and the only other helpful advice was yours anyway.

Going on my experience with my Crx, which gets hot as well but never overheated, I put in the Spoon Sports thermostat which was a waste of $80. That fan doesnt kick on til 210, that's the problem. When money allows I'll upgrade to a Koyo radiator, do the thermostat & proper overflow bottle this weekend. I'm losing brake fluid like nobody's business, so after I pay for a caliper, we'll see what I've got left for a new rad.

That's funny. No offense to you as you're a smart guy but some of the biggest jackasses in the world of cars say the same things you have said in that quote. Do yourself a favor and don't say that shit.

You're right. I wish I had a big toolbox, then I could figure out what the fuck I was doing to my cars.
