Datsun Dreaming
I keep staring at it waiting in anticipation for the day I can start working on getting it back on the road. I decided I'm keeping my original car, and parting out my shell when the time comes.
I also decided I'm going to paint the engine bay grey, rebuild the head, replace the clutch, move the battery and tub the front fenders while I'm at it.

no its like tubing the rear to put bigger tires in the rear, but in the front its for more steering angle also. You basically cut out the fender wells and weld new ones in that allow more room.
Yea the new car is getting hacked and torn apart. Its only the upper driverside front rail and core support though. After I tore my car apart I found out the lower frame didnt get touched thanks to my ride height being so damn low.
"we can rebuild it, we have the technology" (or something like that)

I know what tubbing the front fenders is for, but I didn't know if he meant he was going to keep his old car, and cut the front end off the new shell he's picking up.

I just found this picture that I dont remember taking. But its the most recent shot before the crash, and one of my new favorites. Give you a good perspective how low the car was. Its not Cali low but lower than most.
Dan, I remember you telling me you didn't want to go any lower, because you didn't want to mess up the geometry of the suspension.
What if there was a product that could be bought for not much money that would allow you to be completely and totally slammed, while still maintaing proper suspension geometry?
I only ask because I already know about one thing, and just learned about another thing you can buy but is very rare.
I know PSM ( parts shop max ) is designing their own part that takes place of subframe bushings and collars and is one piece, that raises the subframe closer to the body, allowing you to go lower while maintaing the same basic geometry.
I also recently learned that you can buy rear knuckles that have different mounting points for the suspension arms that do the same thing, but I have also heard that these are super rare, and can be quite expensive.

Oh, and the only thing about your car I would change in that picture is Navan front bumper, and different grill.
Oh, and different wheels, but I think pretty much every knows I have never liked FN's.
Although I think I remember you saying you got them for a good price or something.
