Sounds like the splines on the knurl some how stripped? If so your going to have to take all the other lug nuts off and try to twist the wheel and break the stud. I dont think you can get to the back side of the hub with the wheel/rotor still on the car.

Or if your lucky you can fit a mig welder tip behind all that and tack weld the back of the stud to the hub and hope thats enough to hold it still while you loosen the lug nut, then break the weld and take the stud out and replace.

I think I kept my old studs when I replaced them with longer ones. But I think they are only 2-3 dollars at advance auto

theres a little spot in the back where you can line the hub up and slip a stud in then just seat it with an open ended lug nut

what i think its doing is the bearing is getting rubbed/burned down cuz the smoke thats coming from the crank shaft sensor hole in the trans smells like someone is welding. i drove it around the block and it was smoking bad and smelling bad and sqealingonly when i push the clutch in.
im going to try to adjust the master slave its the rod thats connects to the clutch pedal if i get lucky it will fix it. other than that i have no idea
try adjusting the the pedal to get the throwout bearing off the pressure plate, I had the same problem. I had enough adjustment in the pedal to fix it, I dont know if you do since its smoking and shit
