Datsun Dreaming
Half way done installing spherical bearings in my Z32 uprights. Got one side done now and put back together with heim'd toe, ruca, trac rods, and stock lowers. Upright moves really freely now, and no bind unless I'm smashing into the wheel well at over 2" of tuck. This should be awesome. Koni's arrive on wednesday, so maybe I can get an alignment that night and drive the hell out of it on thursday.
good luck, chris. my car went from stock to the bounciest 240 evar (as per taylor and john) with those damn spherical bushings (and help from poly stuff too). i seriously did not like driving my car after that it was so harsh, and it wasn't even on stiff coils.

Answer to the thread: beat the snot out of the coupe. It's amazing what the difference is between a low mile KA is and one that's dying. The green car struggles to accelerate while the coupe just flies.

Ive heard the opposite with poly bushings when you do the grease fitting mod, Jordan Y. did the grease fittings said the car was more compliant over rough surfaces and stopped lanching th car off bumps like normal. I've done everything to my suspesnion (same parts SPL) with the exception of Z32 uprights and poly upright and LCA bushings (I have and need intall) and my car isnt bouncy. Its a bit harsh but I think its liveable. My only problem is bind. I lift the inside wheel if I go into a very sharp low speed corner. Eventually with in the next year I'm going to do sphericals also. I just didnt want to spend the money yet and I dont want them on my only car, I'm waiting till I pick up something for a daily.
Dan, I think you've been driving that Mazda too long!!

got my car running but it sqeals and smokes really bad its coming from the tranny. its a s14 motor and trans in a s13.
when i replaced the clutch the kit came with a release bearing and when we took the old one off they looked different so i just put it in anyways.
what i think its doing is the bearing is getting rubbed/burned down cuz the smoke thats coming from the crank shaft sensor hole in the trans smells like someone is welding. i drove it around the block and it was smoking bad and smelling bad and sqealingonly when i push the clutch in.
im going to try to adjust the master slave its the rod thats connects to the clutch pedal if i get lucky it will fix it. other than that i have no idea

New headlights arrived this morning. Putting them in this evening.
In response to Longfellow2, the car is very bouncy, no matter what surface I'm driving on. You get used to it after a while, but I still hate any type of speed bump.

Are you still on shocks and spings? I dont think my car is bouncy, its firm unless I go over a huge bump that unsettles the entire rear suspension which is what im trying to solve with grease fittings in the uprights and LCA's
I want to see how much different your car is compared to mine. They are very similar other than power. I've never been in a S14 other than my own.
