Before i pull this damn motor apart i want some imput.
Do you really think its NOT the timing?

stock automatic s13 ka
its only driven around 15 or so miles a day.
car drove fine to work. noticed timing chain was making more noise then normal.
parked it. end of day went to start it and it would not even attempt to run. few trys later it starts and sounds cammed out like a drag car... seriously...gave it gas it died.
i go to pop the hood and the cable comes off at the latch... just my luck now i cant get under the hood.
tryed again same thing.
tryed again and the motor bucked wildy and would not start.
tryed again and it would not even attempt to run the slightest bit.
tryed few more times nothing. waited and smoked a cigg.
tryed again and the car runs again sounds cammed out but now ALOT less then before but still died apon throttling.

no smoke(that i noticed) oil change 100 or so miles ago.

That's some sort of electrical issue. Maybe bad cap/rotor or wires.

I don't know why all the sudden the *.* answer for why things to don't work is "timing" (no offense!). The CAS/distributor is bolted down, and the timing chains are virtually impossible to skip on SR without causing some sort of other damage to the engine. On KA, it just might be impossible.

just got back form picking up my coilovers (k sport ground control) and when i was looking at them, it seemed like something was missing. ill explain. in the pic below, the black locking mount (pictured) on top of the lower mount is there. ok. cool. but isnt there supposed to be a lock on the bottom mount too? (see below pics)

see black locking mount on top ^

and now. no locking mount on bottom below the lower mount.

so correct me if im wrong, but isnt there supposed to be a black locking mount on the bottom too?

UR wrong. The whole point of the locking collar is to keep the lower mount from spinning relative to the strut. You only need to lock it in one place to accomplish that.
