might sounds kinda stupid, but did you change the thermostat? it may be stuck shut... I'd start there, then give your water pump an eyeball..

you can test it by removing it, and boiling it in water, if it opens, it's good of not, no joy...

i had excellent results with a Nismo thermostat, ran cool, on and off the track...

 

Got new diff oil, new motor oil and filter, and now I'm thinking I want to replace the transmission oil since it feels kinda crunchy now. Where can I locally buy redline MT-90?

 

^ a while back i had carquest order me some, then i heard autozone can order some too i told a guy on here to go and try carquest and he also tried autozone but later said that both of them said they couldnt. I guess it just depends on your location. As far as places having them in stock i would try a perfomance shop.

 

Marshall, thermostat is good. Water pump circulates water, you can see it once the thermostat opens.

Oh and my car is weirding the shit out of me. After Desoto I thought I had a bad piston ring because I had oil all over the 3rd plug. I replaced the spark plug as a temporary fix, and I just checked it today, and it doesn't have a drop of oil on it. Still runs strong on all 4 cylinders too. I'm slightly confused. There was a replacement spark plug chillin in the glove box when I bought the car, so maybe it's a super slow leak somewhere that the PO knew about?

 

Or your spark plug tunnel gasket...

 

That's what I was thinking of when I said slow leak.

 

mike, no idea bro... i hate those gremlins... as a tip, try cutting off that little flap thing on the thermostat, i've HEARD that by removing that, it can relieve pressure on the system...


in BZ news, i got the new tranny in today... and guys, you don't know how bad not having third gear is until you daily it w/out it for months.... now it's a beautiful, smooth shifting, and QUIET machine, the Tomei SS adds a quick enough shift to the new trans... goddamn it's so nice...

oh, and i mounted my S14 SE wheels... i thought it would be straight booboo status, but once cleaned up, i don't think it's all that bad, besides being pizza cutter sizes... then again, i've always been partial to the S14 SE on damn near any S chassis...
