Apparently piston ring went bad. I was running some really sketchy fuel that I thought was causing the injector to get clogged, but apparently that wasn't it.

 

Sure it isn't the head gasket letting go? What are your compression test results? Do a compression test and then do it again with a cap full of oil in the cylinder. If it goes up it's more than likely the rings. Not a difficult fix if you know what you're doing. Rebuild it!

Been to like 5-6 events this year and sometimes on the streets. 195k ka still runs strong. Guess im lucky.

 

Yeah I don't know what happened. My motor supposedly has super low miles. I just filled out a few more job applications. Hopefully one of them actually lands me a job one of these days :I

replaced sway bar bushings and end links with new energy suspension bushings and while i was down there my driver lower control arm and tc rod were both loose, replaced and tightened everything up no more clunking yay..
and all this talk about ka's mine is running like a champ

 

Mine too, still with perfect compression after two years of torture and abuse. You guys are doing it wrong.
