Datsun Dreaming
codyace's adapter plates made the lower forward bolt hit the sway bar on the black car... figured it was the Godspeed bushings going bad...
he probably designed them around the OEM sway bars...

I need to thin out the CodyAce brackets. There's 5/8" spacers so that the compressor clears the engine-side bolts. I'm going to remove those with a grinder. Then I need to countersink the engine-side bolts holes so the heads don't poke out. Basically, I'm converting his new brackets into his old brackets. That's the way they used to be made.
25psi is LOW. I mean, engines with cracked ring lands have more compression than that. Maybe a valve is hanging or something? I mean, #4 popped off some how, so I suspect that there are greater forces at work.
You going to be around this afternoon? Maybe I can come over and we could kill 2 birds with one stone.

It cleared the OEM sway bar just fine, which is why I didn't think there'd be a problem. The compressor body, pulley, and bottom left bolt are all really really close to the sway bar in the area where the bar bends. It looks like the 5/8" that I plan to move the compressor will fix it. It'll get fixed one way or another; it's just how much of a PITA will it be.

I'll be home by 6. That'd be awesome because if it turns out not to be a ring I'd be really happy.
Weird thing is, it ran yesterday for a little bit (ran like crap) then it wouldnt run, sounded like it wanted to but it wouldnt, which was probably when the rear rocker arm came off.

I've got access to a mill and lathe up here in Gainesville. If you draw up what you want changed, I'll do it for you.
pulled the turbo back off to replace my lines, ran into a problem because i eliminated a piece of line for the coolant line that runs behind the block and between the firewall... now because i took that piece out i cant get to it... might have to pull the motor slightly back out to get it. ugh haha. also am in the middle of painting my IC pipes while i have the time waiting on other stuff.

There might not be any oil on the front cylinder but I couldnt tell last night. It might of just been gas. I'm hoping its a stuck valve or something in the head. If not, I'm getting an E36.
