Datsun Dreaming
^ The larger rotors do NOT make you stop any faster...there is a small increase in the duration before you start to see brake fade just because the rotors stay a little cooler, but in street use you will Not see any difference. I was going to do this on my Q but it isn't worth it at all. Upgrading to the Brembo's from an Evo would be the way to go.

Slow down, Burgy! Don't you know that EVO brakes are a hack because they use relocation brackets??!!

Maybe I took the wrong approach, initially. Yes, maybe relocated Z32 kits are a hack. This is opinion. Yes, relocated Z32 kits increase braking (cooling and torque). This is fact. I could give 2 shits about opinion; I just want people to have the facts straight.
Installed my R33 steering wheel. You have to modify either the wheel or the S14 clock spring (is that what it's called? the wire dealie). I chose to modify the clock spring, at which point I broke it. Took it apart, figured it out, resoldered it, works like a charm. The wheel technically isn't even designed to work with an S14 clock spring, as the locating pins are in different places. For other people doing this, I would suggest just modifying the wheel.
epstien, you are correct the wire dealie is called a clock spring.
and where im up this early I think im gonna clean the car out today, its getting pretty dirty :-/

They make you stop faster if the problem was overheating the rotors! Stopping multiple times from 140mph+ is not what I consider street use. There's a lot of misleading info in here about brakes. Yeah, for street use a regular Z32 setup is more than enough, and Brembos and big disk kits are overkill. But if you start doing crazy shit, you're going to want more brakes and more brake cooling.

Yes you are correct! As you said, if this will see real track time then a bigger upgrade to the larger rotors will help, It is also my opinion that it is a hack job for a car that will see serious track time though too..
The Evo set up is better, but I understand how this is can be considered a hack job as well. I believe that if the brackets are of quality and so are the bolts holding them on it is much better option than the bigger rotors on calipers that aren't made for them option.
For street use they are over kill, but at least the Evo set up has calipers and rotors that match in size and are set up for each other...
Oh, and for my Q this is not overkill...
